Controls must be engineered to avoid any falls from taking place therefore also avoiding the need for a post fall arrest rescue, which is a very high risk activity requiring high skill & purpose made equipment. It is important, however, that where fall arrest is chosen as the operating procedure, that Post Fall Arrest Rescue is considered as a control to minimise the effects of suspension trauma after a fall arrest.

Post Fall Arrest Rescue Equipment has evolved to an improved Remote Access Post Fall Arrest Rescue Kit which consists of a mechanical Man-Riding-Evacuation System. The system is pre-packed and purpose made to provide the user with a simple system to reach a casualty below by means of a telescopic rope reach pole to connect him to a Mechanical-Man-Riding Evacuation Device. After connection, the rescuer will use the flywheel handle on the device to hoist the casualty up to release his lanyard in order to be lowered to a lower point of safety. The recovery process is easy due to a generous hoisting mechanical advantage in the device. Standard rope lengths and rescue capacities: 40m, 60m, 80m.
